Opening of Dokdo Outreach Exhibition
In commemoration of the centennial of the March 1st Movement and the establishment of the Provisional Government, the Foundation will hold the “Special Exhibition: Maps of the East Sea and Dokdo” in the Special Exhibition Hall of the National Library of Korea, Sejong, for 18 days, from March 28 through April 14. Held as part of the Dokdo outreach programs celebrating the Dokdo education week, the exhibition was planned to help people understand the history of Dokdo and its rightful territorial sovereignty. The exhibition will display a variety of relics and remains, including a transcribed copy of King Gwanggaeto’s epitaph, records of ancient writings, such as “Annals of King Taejong,” and maps made both at home and abroad. Additionally, the exhibition will serve as an occasion to reconfirm the historical nature of the East Sea and the Korean territory of Dokdo. Visitors will be able to make memories at activity zones that will offer an experience of Dokdo through virtual reality, puzzles, and other interesting programs.
